作家在廊日 9/2、3、15（予定）＊9/14は在廊しないことになりました
｢今年に入って突然鮮やかな花が描きたい気持ちが湧いてくるようでした。それで描いたのがアネモネでした。｣
21年前田村あやに抽象での個展をしませんかと話し、実現したのが夢のようだ。そのときは花のモチーフから離れ、水彩という画材自体から絵を見つめなおしてほしいとの願いを画家に抱いていたのだろう。いかに身勝手な思いだったかをいまは実感している。
それでもその花の絵に目を近づけ、花が見えなくなる瞬間を楽しもうとする自分がいる。
今回の新作でも、アネモネではなく｢突然の気持ち｣が先にあった。この人の絵のま芯につながる言葉だと届いたメールに膝をうった。 （企画者：大倉 宏）
“At the beginning of this year, I suddenly felt the urge to paint vivid flowers. That’s why I painted anemones.”
Twenty-one years ago, I asked Aya Tamura if she would like to hold an abstract painting solo exhibition, and it felt like a dream come true when it actually happened. At that time, I probably wanted the artist to move away from floral motifs and re-examine painting from the perspective of watercolor as a medium itself. Now I realize how selfish that desire was.
Still, there is a part of me that enjoys getting close to the flower painting and savoring the moment when the flower disappears from view. In this new work, as well, it was not the anemone but the “driven feeling” that came first. I was struck deeply by the words that connected to the essence of this person’s painting in the email I received. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)
田村あや（たむら あや）
長岡市生まれ。文化服装学院デザイン科修了後、本や新聞広告等のイラストレーションの仕事を行う。94年から個展で発表する。画廊ランプ屋、銀座ギャラリー（東京）、ギャラリー沙衣、新潟三越、相澤美術館、新潟大和、長岡大和、画廊Full Moon、2004、22年新潟絵屋（新潟）などで個展。横浜市在住。
Aya Tamura
Born in Nagaoka City. After graduating from the Design Department of Bunka Fashion College, she worked as an illustrator for books and newspaper advertisements. Tamura has been holding solo exhibitions since 1994. She has held solo exhibitions at Gallery Lampya, Ginza Gallery (Tokyo), Gallery Sai, Niigata Mitsukoshi, Aizawa Museum of Art, Niigata Daiwa, Nagaoka Daiwa, Gallery Full Moon, and Niigata Eya (Niigata) in 2004 and 2022. She lives in Yokohama City.
