いつか訪ねた東京浅草の、鉄筋コンクリートの家の中の、野中光正の部屋は、きちんと整理整頓され、すてきなオーディオセットなども備えられた都会風の空間だった。にもかかわらず、どことなく木こりの住まいのような感じがあった。自然児という言葉を連想させる雰囲気が、野中本人にあったせいかもしれない。
その野中らしい自然児ぶりが、荒い筆触などによりくっきりと顔をのぞかせてきた。なおかつその変化が、個性的な自然の中にあった江戸が急激に変貌して生まれた近現代都市・東京の空気感をも、強く醸し出す結果となっているのが面白い。 （企画者：大倉 宏）
Mitsumasa Nonaka’s room in a reinforced concrete house in Asakusa, Tokyo, which I visited one day, was an urban space that was neatly organized and equipped with a nice audio set. Despite this, it somehow had the feel of a lumberjack’s dwelling. Perhaps it was because Nonaka himself had an aura that reminded me of a “nature child.”
Nonaka’s typical nature child-alike character, has been clearly revealed through his rough brush strokes. It is interesting to note that these changes have resulted in a strong sense of the modern city of Tokyo, which was born from the rapid transformation of Edo, a city with a unique natural environment. 野中光正（のなか みつまさ）
1949年東京都生まれ。67年に絵画を、73年に木版画を始める。89年新潟県高柳町に移住し、紙漉を学ぶ。91年かやぶきの家（高柳）で個展、同年東京に戻る。以後、ゆーじん画廊、ギャラリーアビアント、ギャラリー枝香庵（東京）、高志の生紙工房ギャラリー、画廊Full Moon、砂丘館、新潟絵屋などで個展。2017年画集『昭和四十五年の夏・野中光正』、19年その続編『昭和四十五・六年』刊行。
Mitsumasa Nonaka
Born in Tokyo in 1949, began painting in 1967 and woodblock printing in 1973. He moved to Takayanagi town, Niigata in 1989, and learned paper making. He had a solo exhibition at Kayabuki-no-ie (Takayanagi) in 1991, and returned to Tokyo in the same year. Since then, he has had solo exhibitions at Yujin Gallery, Gallery A Bientot, Gallery Echo-ann (Tokyo), Koshino Kigami Kobo Gallery, Gallery Full Moon, Sakyukan, Niigata Eya, etc. In 2017, he published an art book Showa 45 nen no Natsu, Mitsumasa Nonaka and its sequel Showa 45/6 in 2019.
