今井リエコ（いまい りえこ）
1992年生まれ。長岡市栃尾で育つ。
2015年 明星大学造形芸術学部絵画コース卒業。
2020年 ギャラリーみつけで個展「どろどろハッピー」開催。
2024年 maison deたびのそら屋 企画展「Restart」参加。

はじめて瞽女唄を聴いた時は驚いた。哀調を帯びた悲しい唄なのだろう、という思い込みを軽く吹き飛ばす明るさ靭（つよ）さ。何よりも身体の底から楽しくなった。
そう、TVもSNSも無い時代、瞽女は村の皆が心待ちにする娯楽だった。人々は花の咲くのを待つように、瞽女の到着を待ったのだろう。
2026年最初の新潟絵屋を、明るく靭い線で描いた植木須美子の作品で始める。豊かで眩しい風が絵屋に吹いてくるようだ。（企画者：田代早苗）
The first time I heard a Goze’s (blind singer) song, I was astonished. Its brightness and suppleness effortlessly blew away my preconception that it would be a sad song tinged with melancholy. Above all, it made me feel joyful from the depths of my being.
Yes, in an era without TV or social media, Gozes were the entertainment the whole village eagerly awaited. People must have anticipated their arrival like they waited for flowers to bloom.
We begin the first Niigata Eya exhibit of 2026 with Sumiko Ueki’s work, painted with bright, strong lines. It feels like a rich, dazzling wind is blowing through the Eya. (Exhibition Planner: Sanae Tashiro)

植木須美子（うえき すみこ）
1921年新潟市生まれ。39年東京府立第五高等女学校卒業。62年新潟女流版画協会創立。高橋信一氏に師事。64年より日本版画協会、国画会展に出品。70、71年新潟県美術展県展賞受賞。81年日本版画協会会員推挙。84年より無所属。85年日本版画文化友好代表団で中国訪問。個展は「越のうた散歩原画展」「なつかしい昭和のはじめの子供達」「北欧 英吉利風景」（新潟伊勢丹）、「新古町版画通り原画展」（新潟大和）、「瞽女さ」（新潟マスターズギャラリー）等。96年にはリトアニアで蔵書票、フランスで木版画を発表。2022年逝去。
Sumiko Ueki
Born in Niigata City in 1921, graduated from Tokyo Prefectural Daigo High School for Girls in 1939. Founded Niigata Women’s Print Association in 1962 and studied under Shinichi Takahashi. Exhibited at the Japan Print Association and Kokuga-kai exhibitions from 1964; won the Niigata Prefectural Art Exhibition Prize in 1970 and 1971; nominated as a member of the Japan Print Association in 1981; unaffiliated since 1984. She visited China in 1985 with the Japan Print Culture Friendship Delegation. She had solo exhibitions such as “Koshi no Uta Sanpo Genga Exhibition,” “Natsukashii Showa no Hajime no Kodomotachi,” “Scandinavia, England Scenery” (Isetan, Niigata), “Shinfurumachi Hanga Dori Genga Exhibition” (Daiwa, Niigata), “Goze sa” (Niigata Masters Gallery), etc. In 1996, she exhibited a bookplate in Lithuania and woodblock prints in France. Passed away in 2022.

「越後瞽女唄・才蔵ズ」：最後の瞽女と言われ、人間国宝の認定を受け三条市の名誉市民でもある小林ハルさんの直弟子、継承者の竹下玲子氏から指導を受けた須藤れい子氏が2018年に結成。三条市「小林ハル瞽女保存会」会員。2022年日本初となる新潟の演奏家による新潟の民謡、オムニバス・カバーアルバムに参加。2025年2月十日町雪祭り出演、同年8月愛知県豊田市 橋の下大盆踊り出演。写真はVincent Moonの映像作品より。

周 豪 ―橋本正明コレクションより―

「周豪展」は今回で3回目。これまでと違い、作者ではなくひとりの見手のコレクションを出品します。
橋本正明さんは美術鑑賞を人生のたのしみとされ、さまざまな作品を家に迎えました。なかでも周豪さんを高く評価し、生前は全国各地へ足を伸ばし、さいごは葬儀にも駆けつけました。今回はその橋本さんが選び抜いた周豪の2001年から晩年までの36点―油彩14点、水彩2点、墨彩1点、銅版画3点、ドローイング3点、コラージュなど6点、立体7点―を展示します。うち4点は2016年に新潟絵屋でご紹介した作品です。ふだん売約作品には、作品や作者、新潟絵屋の情報を印刷したシールを貼付します。これが迷子札の役を果たし、橋本さんの没後作品の行く末を心配したご家族から相談を受けたのでした。わたしは、絵につぎの見手につながる道をつくりたいと思いました。
いま準備をすすめながら、橋本正明さんの目と、いい作品には力があるということを感じています。（企画者：井上美雪）
The “Zhou Hao Exhibition” is now in its third appearance. Unlike previous shows, this one features not the artist’s own works but also the collection of a single viewer, Mr. Masaaki Hashimoto. This Hao fan cherished art as a lifelong joy, welcoming diverse works into his home. He held Zhou Hao in particularly high regard, traveling across Japan to see his work during the artist’s lifetime and even attending his funeral. This exhibition presents 36 works by Zhou Hao, selected by Mr. Hashimoto, spanning from 2001 to the artist’s final years: 14 oil paintings, 2 watercolors, 1 ink wash painting, 3 copperplate prints, 3 drawings, 6 collages and other works, and 7 sculptures. Four of these works were previously introduced at Niigata Eya in 2016. We routinely affix labels to sold works, printed with details about the piece, the artist, and Niigata Eya. These labels serve as a kind of identification tag. After Mr. Hashimoto passed away, his family, concerned about the future of the works he left, consulted us about this practice. I wanted to create a path connecting the paintings to their next viewers. As preparations advance, I feel that the power of Mr. Masaaki Hashimoto’s discerning eye and excellent works of art. 周豪（Zhou Hao／しゅう ごう）
1960年中国上海市生まれ。6歳から高校までの10年間を文化大革命のなかで過ごす。83年来日。90年武蔵野美術大学大学院造形研究科美術専攻版画コース修了、その後版画工房MMGに入社（～2003年）。93年以降横浜と上海を拠点に制作活動を重ね、多くのアートフェアに参加しつつ、国内外各地で個展を中心に発表。2008・10年Atelier Remy Bucciali（フランス）にて銅版画制作。町田市立国際版画美術館、武蔵野美術大学美術資料図書館、神州版画美術館（中国）、多摩美術大学美術館、フランスポスター美術館、アメリカボストン美術館、アメリカスミス大学美術館、ポーランド国立美術館などに作品収蔵。エッセイ集『絵描きになりたかった少年の話』（23年WATERMARK発行）。23年9月没。
Born in Shanghai, China, in 1960. Lived ten years from age six through high school through the Cultural Revolution. Came to Japan in 1983. Graduated from the Printmaking Course, Department of Fine Arts, Graduate School of Art and Design, Musashino Art University in 1990, then joined the printmaking studio MMG until 2003. Since 1993, has based his creative activities in Yokohama and Shanghai, participating in numerous art fairs while exhibiting primarily through solo shows both domestically and internationally. Produced copperplate prints at Atelier Remy Bucciali (France) in 2008 and 2010. Works held in collections including the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts, Musashino Art University Art Library, Shenzhou Print Museum (China), Tama Art University Museum, Musée de l’Affiche Française, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Smith College Museum of Art, and National Museum of Art, Poland.
Published the essay collection Ekakini Naritakatta Syonen (WATERMARK,
2023). Passed away in September 2023.
