　フジタヨウコの陶芸は、師の坂爪勝幸や坂爪の敬愛するピーター・ヴォーコスがそうであるように、視覚と触覚を越えた感覚世界に身をいつも開こうとしてきた。若さや甘さ、たどたどしさを時に味方としながら、いろいろな展開をたどってきた制作を見続けて20年になった。 いつも事前に新作を見に村上の工房へいくのが楽しみだが、事情で行けなかった。しかし画像からでも手前に飛び出てくるもののふしぎな音がする。実際の会場はどんなだろう。（企画者：大倉宏）

Like her teacher Katsuyuki Sakazume and Peter Voulkos, whom he admires,
Yoko Fujita’s ceramic art has always tried to open herself to the world of the senses beyond the senses of sight and touch. It has been 20 years since I have
watched her work, which has developed in various ways, with youth, naivete, and even her faltering sometimes, as allies. I always look forward to visiting her studio
in Murakami city to see her new works in advance of her exhibition, but this time, circumstances prevented me from doing so. However, even from the image, I could hear the mysterious sound of something popping up in the foreground. I wonder what the actual venue will be like. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

フジタヨウコ（藤田 陽子）
1995年女子美術短期大学卒業。96年同専攻科修了。同年坂爪勝幸氏に師事。個展は、03年ギャルリー炎舎（新潟市）開催以来、新潟絵屋、ギャラリーさやけ、ギャラリー彩、やまぼうし、HAFU、胎内市美術館、ギャラリーみつけ（新潟）、芹川画廊、ギャラリーいなば、ギャラリー＋ノーション（東京）などで発表。09年長三賞、13年日本陶芸展入選。16年地元の瀬波温泉に「Toi 陶房」設立。www.fujita-yoko.com

Yoko Fujita
Graduated from Joshibi College of Art and Design in 1995, and completed the major course in 1996. Studied under Katsuyuki Sakazume in the same year.Since her solo exhibition at Galerie Ensha in Niigata City in 2003, she has exhibited at Niigata Eya, Gallery Sayake, Gallery Sai, Yamaboshi, HAFU, Tainai City Museum of Art, Gallery Mitsuke (Niigata), Serikawa Gallery, Gallery Inaba, Gallery+Notion (Tokyo), etc. She was awarded the Choza Prize in 2009 and her work was selected for the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition in 2013. 　はじめて目にして以来、末松由華利の絵の色にひかれている。アンダーカラー（色の下の色）という言葉があるけれど、どの色の下にも重く、でも重すぎないグレーがひそみ、その見えないグレーが明るさと暗さ、柔らかさときびしさ、イメージとイメージでないもの、形と形ならざるものなど、対極的なものをともに迎え入れ、支え、天秤の二つの皿のように画面に浮かばせている。色にそんな不思議な力があることにおどろく。
　シンプルで複雑なその色を、いつまでも、いつまでも見ていたくなる。（企画者：大倉宏）

I have been attracted to the colors of Yukari Suematsu’s paintings since the first time I saw them. There is a term “undercolor” (the color below the color). Under every color, there is a heavy but not too heavy gray. And this invisible gray welcome and support opposites such as light and dark, soft and harsh, image and nonimage, form and formlessness, and makes them float on the screen like two plates on a balance scale. It is astonishing that color has such a mysterious power. The simplicity and complexity of the colors make me want to look at them forever and ever. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

末松由華利（すえまつ ゆかり）
埼玉県生まれ、大阪府育ち。2010年多摩美術大学美術学部絵画科油画専攻卒業。近年の個展は、21年ゆいぽーと「空と海を砂で分く」（新潟）、日本橋髙島屋「設える時」（東京）、22年日本橋三越本店「Visions of a Torn World」、新潟絵屋「砂の縁を歩く」、23年ASTER「何処か遠くで起きたこと」（石川）、新宿髙島屋「山も海も砂も雪も、私たちも」（東京）など。17年9-11月長野、 2021年1-2月新潟、22年3月フィンランドにて滞在制作を行い発表。https://yukarisuematsu.wixsite.com/mysite

Yukari Suematsu
Born in Saitama Prefecture and raised in Osaka Prefecture. 　後藤裕子の絵は、基礎トレーニングの礎あってのことかと思うけれど、平面的に見えながら、その実、立体的である。旧居の長岡はちょうど山地と平野の境目に位置して、そこから海や野や山に行って会う風景が生まれていた。長野に移ってからの近作では、以前はやや奥に隠れていた立体的性格が、ぐっと前面に出てきた。遠方の山はシルエットだが、近くの山は光のうつろいとともにゴツゴツした立体感を刻々とあらわす。画家の目がその生きた「立体」を深呼吸し、我が意を得たというように光りだしている。（企画者：大倉宏）

Hiroko Goto’s paintings, which I believe are the result of her basic training, appear flat, but are in fact three-dimensional. Nagaoka, her former residence, was located right on the border between the mountainous region and the plain, and from there, she created landscapes that she encountered by going to the sea, fields, and mountains. In her recent works, since moving to Nagano, the three-dimensional character that was previously somewhat hidden in the background has come much more to the fore. The distant mountains are silhouettes, but the nearby mountains reveal a rugged three-dimensionality from moment to moment as the light changes. The artist’s eyes absorbed the living “three-dimensional shape” and shone like she had discovered its true essence. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

後藤裕子（ごとう ひろこ）
1951年東京都生まれ。父に画集を祖母に油絵具箱を贈られる環境で育つ。美大を経て油彩画を組成と技法から学び直そうと仏留学し、帰国後は子育てや介護等家庭の中で過ごす。夫の赴任地新潟県長岡市で病院や施設に風景画を飾る機会があり、スケッチと構成画制作を始めた。2019年～長野県に移り住む。

Hiroko Goto
Born in Tokyo in 1951. Goto grew up in an environment where her father gave her art books and her grandmother gave her a box of oil paints. After studying at art college, she went to France to relearn the composition and technique of oil painting. Following her return to Japan, she spent her time raising her children and caring for her family. She started sketching and compositional painting when she had a chance to hang her landscape paintings in hospitals and
facilities in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, where her husband was posted.

　展覧会のたびに、井田さんが温めていたものを発見する。最初は2018年の支援展のとき。作家に代わり絵を選び、写真で、出品していいもの、手元に置きたいものを確認した。出品しないことにした絵の１つに、ぞうきんの素描があった。その後、それがパステルや絵の具で描かれることはなかったが、どんな絵を温めていたのだろう。
　さて、今回は新潟にまつわる絵で構成することにした。「Iさんの背中」は絵屋で働く私が登場する絵だ。椅子の背もたれと背中との空間を描きたかったと、当時聞いた。（企画者：井上美雪・大倉宏）

At each Ida exhibition, I discover something that the artist has been exploring. The first was during the 2018 support exhibition. I selected paintings on behalf of the artist and sent photos to confirm which ones he could exhibit and which ones he wanted to keep on hand. One of the paintings that he decided to not exhibit was a sketch of a rag; it was never painted over with pastels or paints after that, but I wonder what kind of picture he was nursing.
This time, we decided to use paintings related to Niigata. “I-san’s Back” is a painting featuring me working in the Niigata Eya gallery. I was told at the time that he wanted to depict the space between the back of a chair and the back of a person. (Exhibition Planner: Miyuki Inoue and Hiroshi Okura)

井田英夫（いだ ひでお）
1975年旧新津市生まれ。97年新潟デザイン専門学校卒業。99年モンセラート美術大学卒業（米国）。2002年より新潟絵屋、05年ギャラリーEMU-st（新潟）、11年久留米市一番街多目的ギャラリー、12年三方舎書斎ギャラリー（新潟）、15年天仁庵（広島）で個展開催。 15年8月～20年4月広島県呉市音戸町に滞在。17年は新潟絵屋とギャラリーみつけ（新潟）で新作展、砂丘館で回顧展を開催。18年4月、新潟市の2会場で有志の企画による「井田英夫支援展」が開催される。19年新潟絵屋で個展開催。20年4月27日逝去。23年4月『井田英夫画集』発行（井田英夫画集刊行委員会）。

Hideo Ida
Born in 1975 in the former Niitsu City. Graduated from Niigata College of Art & Design in 1997, and from Montserrat College of Art (USA) in 1999. He has had solo exhibitions at Niigata Eya since 2002, Gallery EMU-st (Niigata) in 2005, Kurume Ichibangai Multipurpose Gallery (Kurume) in 2011, Sanpousha Shosai Gallery (Niigata) in 2012, and Tenjinan (Hiroshima) in 2015. From August 2015 to April 2020, he lived in Ondo-cho, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. In 2017, he held exhibitions of new works at Niigata Eya and Gallery Mitsuke (Niigata), and a retrospective at Sakyukan. In April 2018, the “Hideo Ida Support Exhibition” was organized by volunteers at two venues in Niigata City. In 2019, he held a solo exhibition at Niigata Eya. He passed away on April 27,2020. Hideo Ida Artworks was published in April 2023 (The Hideo Ida Artworks Publication Committee).

　吉田淳治と知り合ったのも洲之内徹との縁だった。洲之内の回想文集の編集に関わったとき、文章を寄せてくれた画家の一人だった。その後絵と本人に出会い、新潟でも何度も展示をさせていただくことになった。
　現代画廊での発表時期の初期の絵を改めて見ると、彼が形に対し繊細な嗜好と愛をいだく画家だったことがわかる。その形への愛と、強すぎる愛ゆえの葛藤のドラマをその後の絵に感じてきた。その「形」は消えたのだろうか、と思えるような最近作の画面に、新しい驚きを覚えつつ、形と形ならざるもの（図と地）の葛藤が、長いせめぎあいの過程で、いつしか強くもあり、やわらかくもあるつながりに、美しいゆらぎになってきたのを感じる。（企画者：大倉宏）

It was through Toru Sunouchi that I came to know Junji Yoshida. When I was involved in editing a collection of Sunouchi’s reminiscences, I observed that he was one of the artists who had contributed an essay. After that, I met him and saw his paintings; and since that, I have had the opportunity to exhibit them many times in Niigata.
Looking again at his early paintings from the period when he exhibited at Gendai Gallery, it is clear that he was a painter with a delicate taste for and love of form. In his later paintings, I have felt the drama of his love of form and the conflicts that arose from this overly strong love. I was surprised to see his recent paintings in which the “form” seems to have disappeared, and I feel that the conflict between form and formlessness (figure and ground) has become a beautiful fluctuation, a connection that is both strong and soft, in the course of a long struggle. 吉田淳治（よしだ じゅんじ）
1951年愛媛県宇和島市生まれ。1970～76年東京、以後は宇和島で制作。畦地梅太郎記念美術館、宇和島市立伊達博物館、べにばら画廊（宇和島）、松山三越、田都画廊（松山）、マエダ画廊、Gallery芽楽（名古屋）、現代画廊、紀伊國屋画廊、始弘画廊（東京）、ギャラリー小蕪亭（長野）、ギャラリー島田（神戸）、画廊Full Moon、新潟絵屋、砂丘館（新潟）、町立久万美術館（愛媛県久万高原町）などで個展を開催。他に佐々木美術館（仙台）などグループ展。画集3種、エッセイ集2種の刊行がある。

Junji Yoshida
Born 1951 in Uwajima, Ehime, Japan. 1970-76 based in Tokyo, since then in Uwajima.
