　木戸廷一さんは田部直枝さんの長女のお連れ合いで、眼光も言葉も鋭い方だった。義父の田部さんが60代後半に始めた画廊たべの理解者でもあった。好みは独自で、画廊たべの常連の画家たちの中では孔版画家の本間吉郎を高く評価していた。その木戸さんが遺された絵に、田部さんが所蔵されていた絵の一部を添えて頒布のための展示をする。
　頒布は販売より見る人から見る人に絵が渡されていく感じを伝える言葉だ。田部さんは晩年の佐藤哲三の生活を支援するため頒布会を組織した。そうして散らばった絵を訪ね歩いた1980年代の経験が家（生活の場）と絵のことを私が考えるきっかけになったのだった。（企画者：大倉宏）

　Teichi Kido was the companion of Naoe Tabe’s eldest daughter, and he was a man of keen eyesight and sharp words. He was also an understanding friend of Gallery Tabe, which his father-in-law, Tabe, had started in his late 60s. His tastes were unique, and among the painters who were regulars at Gallery Tabe, he held the stencil artist Kichiro Honma in high esteem. The exhibition will be held for distribution of Kido owned paintings, along with some of the pictures from Tabe’s collection.
　Hanpu is a word that conveys the feeling of a painting being passed from viewer to viewer rather than sold. Mr. Tabe organized the hanpukai to support the life of Tetsuzo Sato in his later years. My experience in the 1980s of visiting the scattered Sato’s paintings led me to think about home (a place for living) and painting. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

▶ 2003年7月　絵のある茶の間「画廊たべ」を偲んで　田部直枝・追悼展

田部直枝（たべ なおえ）
1905年新潟市生まれ。銀行員時代の画家佐藤哲三、佐藤清三郎らとの深い交友が原点となり、退職後新発田の自宅一画を改装し、67歳で「画廊たべ」を開設（95年まで）。二人の佐藤のほか、山上嘉吉、東本つね、上野誠、高良真木、細野稔人、本間吉郎など多くの画家を年2～3回のペースの企画展で紹介。日本家屋のギャラリーは画廊主の人柄とともに、多くの人に親しまれた。2003年3月2日97歳で没。

Naoe Tabe
Born in Niigata City in 1905. His deep friendship with painters Tetsuzo Sato and Seizaburo Sato while working as a bank employee became the starting point of his career. After retiring, he renovated a corner in his house in Shibata City and opened “Gallery Tabe” at the age of 67 (1972 to 1995). In addition to the two Sato artists, he introduced many other painters such as Kakichi Yamagami, Tsune Tomoto, Makoto Ueno, Maki Kora,Toshihito Hosono, and Kichiro Honma in exhibitions held two or three times a year. The gallery, designed in a Japanese-style house, was loved by many people and so was the personality of the gallery owner. He died on March 2nd, 2003 at the age of 97.

　光は闇を、闇は光をいつも含んでいる。かかえている。ずいぶん暗くなってきた、あるいは暮れてきた感じの七里知子の近作を見てそう感じる。19世紀末のヨーロッパの絵にあった蠱惑的な幻視感を思い出させる画面だ。光がおのれを掘り込み探りあてた瑞々しい闇が、光の濡れた手に掬われてあるようだ。詩的な19世紀末絵画に並走していたのが、散文的な印象派（光の絵）だったことを思い出す。明度を下げながら、七里の絵も、より深く詩を呼吸し始めている。（企画者：大倉宏）

　Light always contains darkness, and darkness always contains light. They embrace each other. I feel this way when I look at Tomoko Shichiri’s recent works, which seem to be getting darker or glowing darkly. The paintings remind me of the alluring illusionism of European paintings of the late 19th century. It is as if a fresh darkness, into which the light has dug into and explored, has been scooped up by the wet hand of the light. It recalls to me the prose-like impressionism (painting of light) that ran parallel to the poetic paintings of the late 19th century. While reducing the brightness, Shichiri’s paintings, too, are beginning to breathe poetry more deeply. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

七里知子（しちり ともこ）
北海道生まれ。京都芸術大学大学院芸術表現専攻修士課程修了。近年の個展は、2014年「記憶の断片」（Gallery MIYASHITA／札幌）、「風景の行間」（新潟絵屋）、15年「たちのぼるけはい」（Gallery&Space SIO／大阪）、16年「儚い膜」（アートスペース虹／京都）、18年「Reverberation」、21年「杳杳」（新潟絵屋）など。恵文社一乗寺店、kit、ちせ（京都）、ブックギャラリーポポタム（東京）、マゼコゼ（長野）や北書店にて版画を発表。今回新作の版画（メゾチント）も数点出品する。

Tomoko Shichiri
Born in Hokkaido. Completed Graduate School at Kyoto University of Arts, Department of Art Expression. Recent solo exhibitions include “Fragments of Memory” (Gallery MIYASHITA, Sapporo) and “Between the lines of the landscape” (Niigata Eya) in 2014, “A presence rises” (Gallery & Space SIO, Osaka) in 2015, “Fleeting membrane” (Art Space Niji, Kyoto) in 2016, “Reverberation” (Niigata Eya) in 2018, and “you-you” (Niigata Eya) in 2021, and others. Her works have been exhibited at Keibunsha Ichijyojiten, kit, Chise (Kyoto), Book & Gallery POPOTAMU (Tokyo), library & Gallery MAZEKOZE (Nagano) and Kitashoten (Niigata). She will be exhibiting several new prints (mezzotint) at this time.

　井田英夫が亡くなって3年が過ぎた。春には440点の絵を収録した画集が刊行された。編集に関わり知ったのは、画集で紹介した数倍の絵を彼が残していたことだった。描き、描き、描いた人生だった。これからは、彼が描いたのと同じくらいの時間をかけ、息長く紹介する展示を続けて井田を知らなかった人たちも、彼の絵に出会ってもらえる場にしていきたい。
　今回は一部を除き画集未収録の絵を紹介する。できたばかりの画集と合わせて見てほしい。（企画者：大倉宏）
Three years have elapsed since Hideo Ida passed away. In the spring an art book containing 440 of his paintings was published. Involved in the editing process, I learned that he had left behind several times as many paintings as were featured in the book. It was a life of drawing, drawing, and drawing. From now on, I would like to take as much time as he spent painting, and continue the exhibition to introduce his paintings for a long time so that people who did not know Ida can also appreciate his paintings.
This time, with the exception of a few paintings, I will introduce paintings that are not included in the book. I hope you will take a look at them along with the newly completed book. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

井田英夫（いだ　ひでお）
1975年旧新津市生まれ。97年新潟デザイン専門学校卒業。99年モンセラート美術大学卒業（米国）。ミンゴーギャラリーで二人展。2002年より新潟絵屋、05年ギャラリーEMU-st（新潟）、 11年久留米市一番街多目的ギャラリー、12年三方舎書斎ギャラリー（新潟）、15年天仁庵（広島）で個展開催。 15年8月～20年4月広島県呉市音戸町に滞在。17年は新潟絵屋とギャラリーみつけ（新潟）で新作展、砂丘館で回顧展を開催。18年4月、新潟市の2会場で有志の企画による「井田英夫支援展」が開催される。19年新潟絵屋で個展開催。20年4月27日逝去。23年4月『井田英夫画集』発行（井田英夫画集刊行委員会）。

Hideo Ida
Born in 1975 in the former Niitsu City, graduated from Niigata College of Art & Design in 1997, graduated from Montserrat College of Art (USA) in 1999. Ida had two-person exhibitions at Mingo Gallery. He has had solo exhibitions at Niigata Eya since 2002, Gallery EMU-st (Niigata) in 2005, Kurume Ichibangai Multipurpose Gallery (Kurume) in 2011, Sanpousha Shosai Gallery (Niigata) in 2012, and Tenjinan (Hiroshima) in 2015. From August 2015 to April 2020, he lived in Ondo-cho, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. In 2017, he held exhibitions of new works at Niigata Eya and Gallery Mitsuke (Niigata), and a retrospective at Sakyukan. In April 2018, the “Hideo Ida Support Exhibition” was organized by volunteers at two venues in Niigata City. In 2019, he held a solo exhibition at Niigata Eya. He passed away on April 27, 2020. Hideo Ida Artworks was published by the Hideo Ida Artworks Publication Committee in April 2023.

　去年8月に70歳で亡くなった栗田宏が最晩年に描いた赤い絵と青い絵を数点、その冬の砂丘館での梅田恭子との二人展で展示した。同じ時期の赤い絵に、ほほえむ顔の絵があった。
　1980年代の抽象的（に見える）素描にも「顔」と題された絵がいくつかあった。赤い顔たちを見ていると、外貌としての顔というより、私たちが具体的な顔に向き合うとき受け取る「感じ」を描いているのではないかと思えてくる。
　赤子がまず出会う人である母の、顔の認知に先立ち、導くなにかを。人生の最後が最初につながっていくようなこれら素描から、残された栗田の絵群を見ていくことを始めたい。（企画者：大倉宏）

Several red and blue paintings by Hiroshi Kurita, who died last August at the age of 70, were shown in a dual exhibition with Kyoko Umeda at Sakyukan that winter. One of the red paintings from the same period had a smiling face.
There were also some abstract (seemingly) drawings entitled “Face” from the 1980s. Looking at the red faces, it seems to me that they depict the first “impression.”
Something, that precedes and guides a baby’s recognition of a mother’s face, the first person a baby encounters. From these drawings, which seem to connect the end of life to the beginning, I would like to begin looking at Kurita’s remaining paintings. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

栗田 宏（くりた ひろし／Hiroshi Kurita）
1952年白根市（現新潟市南区）生まれ。「生成」「気」「密」などのテーマで制作を続ける。84・85年現代画廊（東京）、2000・02・04・14・15・16年新潟絵屋、04・05・07・08・09・10年画廊Full Moon、07年砂丘館、11年阿彌陀瀬（五泉市）にて個展。砂丘館で11年 「栗田 点 華雪」、13年 「平野充・栗田宏」、22年「特別展示　栗田宏 梅田恭子」開催。89年 「新潟の絵画100年展」（新潟市美術館）、 00年 「見えない境界 変貌するアジアの美術 光州ビエンナーレ2000（アジアセクション）日本巡回新潟展」（新潟県民ギャラリー）出品など。
Kurita was born in 1952 in Shirone City (currently Minami Ward, Niigata City). He worked continuously on themes such as “Seisei” (generation), “Ki” (qi), and “Mitsu” (density). Solo exhibitions were held at Gendai Gallery (Tokyo) in 1984 and 1985, Niigata Eya in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2014, 2015, and 2016, Full Moon Gallery from 2004 to 2010 except for 2006, Sakyukan in 2007, and Amidase (Gosen City) in 2011. He held dual exhibitions at Sakyukan: “Kurita Ten Kasetsu” in 2011, “Mitsuru Hirano and Hiroshi Kurita” in 2013, and the special exhibition by Hiroshi Kurita and Kyoko Umeda in 2022. He participated in “100 Years of Niigata Painting” (Niigata City Art Museum, 1989), and “Invisible boundary: metamorphosed Asian art: travelling exhibition: Asian section of Kwangju Biennale 2000 Japan Tour in Niigata” (Niigata Prefectural Gallery, 2000).

　新潟市南区で三代続く建具屋―しんべろん（新兵衛どん）はその屋号です。障子や襖などの建具（たてぐ）を新潟の住宅へ昭和初期の時代から納め続けてきました。小さな木片を組み合わせた幾何学模様「組子」は建具を飾る伝統的な技法のひとつです。ご自宅に和室が少なくなった現代でも、身近に飾れる額装や普段使いの木工品として組子をもっと日常に取り入れられたら…今回の展示の願いです。木の優しさと直線の作り出す豊かな表現を感じていただければと思っています。

吉田新弥（よしだ しんや）
1968年新潟県白根市（現・新潟市南区）生まれ。 1990年筑波大学第三学群基礎工学類卒業。同年（有）吉田建具製作所入社。木工科職業訓練指導員、一級建具技能士、2020年新潟県知事表彰「にいがたの名工」。1999年『組木でつくったひめかざり展』『平成の職人』（新潟市 東北電力グリーンプラザ）、『組子でつくった屏障具展』（白根大凧と歴史の館）、2018年『矢中の杜の組子展』（つくば市 矢中の杜）出品。2018年全国建具展示会経済産業大臣賞受賞など。昨年10月、旧齋藤家別邸開館10周年秋季特別イベントで建具と組子作品を特別展示。

　「物語が、生まれる」といういつか読んだ本の名を、蓮池ももの新作を見て思い出した。
　蓮池の初期の絵は、ひとりの心の、とほうもない奥行きを映していた。それは今も変わらない。けれどいつしか彼女の絵に物語が息をしはじめてきた。くり返し語られる物語には、形式的反復がみられる。新作では、ネックレスの輪が二重になり、炎に変じ、やがて舞台の、がっしりとした枠のようになり、そこに夏山に生える羊歯を思わせる紋様がひろがりだした。枠は星や森や光る石や女たちや母子がつむぐふしぎな絵の物語に注意を向けさせる。と同時に、物語を物語の外につなぐ生きた「境界」＝形式的反復に成長してきたように見える。（企画者：大倉宏）

　The name of a book I read sometime ago, “A Story is Born,” reminded me of a new work by Momo Hasuike.
　Hasuike’s early paintings reflected the unbelievable depth of one’s heart. That has not changed. However, her paintings have begun to breathe with stories. The story told over and over again shows formal repetition. In the new work, the loop of the necklace doubles, turns into a flame, and eventually becomes a sturdy frame for the stage, on which a pattern reminiscent of fern leaves growing on a summer mountain spreads out. The frames draw the viewer’s attention to the stars, the forest, the shiny stones, the women, and the mysterious pictorial story of a mother and her child. At the same time, it seems to have developed into a formal repetition, a living “boundary” that connects the story to the outside of the story. (Exhibition Planner: Hiroshi Okura)

蓮池もも（はすいけ もも）
1983年新潟市生まれ。2006年fullmoon upstairs、 07・08・09・10・11年画廊Full Moon、12年砂丘館、15・16年ギャラリー島田（神戸）、16年ギャラリー枝香庵（銀座）、21年ギャラリーみつけで個展。新潟絵屋では10・12～22年毎年個展開催。俳誌『白茅』に画とエッセイの連載「森の奥 湖の底」を発表。近年は「momonote」や「コーヒーとタープ」などオリジナルグッズの絵を手がける。昨年は大地の芸術祭2022に参加し「山の奥 海の底」を発表。十日町市在住。

Momo Hasuike
Born in Niigata City in 1983, Hasuike has had solo exhibitions at Gallery Full Moon in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011, at Sakyukan in 2012, at Gallery Shimada (Kobe) in 2015 and 2016, at Gallery Echo-ann (Tokyo) in 2016, and at Gallery Mitsuke in 2021. She has held solo exhibitions at Niigata Eya in 2010 and every year from 2012 to 2022. She has published a series of paintings and essays, “Mori no Oku Mizuumi no Soko,” in the haiku magazine Hakubou. In recent years, she has painted for original goods such as “momonote” and “coffee and tarp.” Last year, she participated in the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial 2022 and presented “Depth of Mountain – Bottom of Ocean.” She is based in Tokamachi City.

十日町市の「やぶこざきキャンプ場」で、週末と祝日だけ営業している自家焙煎コーヒー店が特別出店します。店主が淹れるコーヒーをおたのしみに。
コーヒーとタープの店主は写真家で蓮池ももさんのパートナー、会田法行さん。会田さんがかつて取材した東ティモールのフェアトレード有機豆を使用しています。

★この日のご来場が難しい方にも、豆のご用意がありますので、ぜひご自宅でご賞味くださいね。
